“Environment is the third teacher” – Our environment is truly unique. When you walk in, you feel at home and learning jumps out at you. The lobby café is a popular place for parents to meet and catch up. Our open plan classrooms welcome children and visitors with constantly changing, displays and learning centers that focus on children’s interests and provokes exploration and discovery.
Our qualified teachers are experienced in Reggio Emelia and International Baccalaureate programmes and all share a caring, enthusiastic approach to children’s learning. Each class has a full time Foreign Teacher, Chinese Teacher, Teacher Assistant and Nanny.
Parents are always welcome to visit and discuss their child’s progress. Our unique classroom design enables help parents see what’s going on in classrooms and the program in action. SeeSaw provides a ‘social media’ type platform where teachers can share individual and group learning with parents. Regular ‘Community Sharing’ assemblies enable parents to join in the celebration of learning. Parent Workshops explore current educational topics.
IEYC offers a play based, child centered learning program based on Reggio Emelia philosophy and the IB PYP programme. Teachers collaboratively plan each week with the PYP curriculum coordinator to plan and assess the program which is flexible enough to respond to children’s interest and passion. Children learn English in a very natural setting. The IEYC curriculum is designed to promote inquiry, nurture creativity and provide a love of learning and a strong foundation for learning throughout their life. It also incorporates future ready skills and develop an understanding of global issues and a commitment to taking action to solve.
Innova is a leading school in the use of technology in Early Years education to provide enriched learning experiences that truly excites children’s learning. As children explore space or life under the sea, they walk on the moon and explore craters using VR, or swim with sharks through the use of green screen technology. They use iPad to make their own videos and eBooks to record their learning. Innova also produces its own print and eBooks to support reading.
The IEYC has a remarkable collection of resources that just keeps expanding. It doesn’t seem to matter what topic is being explored there are resources on hand to support and enrich learning and engage children. There are lots of special spaces throughout the Center – the library is a delightful space full of books, the STEAM Center encourages design thinking and engineering, the Learning Kitchen supports cooking, the Media Studio provides green screen video and VR and the multi-purpose room is an indoor gym and dance studio.
